West Meridia comprises a mountainous northern region and to the south, the thousand islands of the Teeming Sea. The sea is shallow and warm and the mountains are high and forested, having snow only upon their very highest summits. Islands in the Teeming Sea are covered with all manner of terrain, from sandy beaches to rocky shores to deep and fertile rain forests. Owing to ancient limestone deposits, the islands of the Teeming sea are also riddled with cave systems, many of which lie completely underwater and provide refuge for all manner of life.
Like Altamira, West Meridia is dominated by humans. Primal power is most common here, and most spell casters are Druidic or Shamanistic in nature, though Wizards and Clerics can be found in most societies. Dwarves are common in the mountains of the north, and many Halflings live upon the shores. Two major kingdoms rule in the north, separated by the Breathing Straight, while the Teeming Sea is filled with a loose federation of island states. It is also common for the richest and most powerful beings of Devonia to acquire and use these islands as place of private sanctuary, a place to carry on business away from prying eyes. It is even said a town of Halflings sails the Teeming Sea upon a floating artificial island, created with the assistance of an Eladrin clan who found themselves indebted.
